Although Christmas is not too far away, there is plenty of time to enjoy “the most wonderful time of the year.” Even though 2020 has felt so great for so many people, this is the best time to slow down a bit and enjoy your many blessings. Spend time with those you love and celebrate this holy season.
If you’re looking for a few ways to have some holiday fun, we’ve got a few ways to make the season even more holly and jolly in this unprecedented year. We’ve all been through all this year, and some fun and enjoyment are definitely in need. Every family has their own holiday traditions, but here are a few suggestions for a merry holiday.

• Take your family and friends for a ride around town and take in all the beautiful lights and decorations.
• If you haven’t decorated or finished decorating your home, there’s still time left. Crank up the Christmas classics or the latest holiday tunes and have a grand time decking the halls.
• Slow down and enjoy the season. Christmas comes but once a year and make sure you take the time to spread some cheer. If you can, step away from that laptop, put down that phone, put the work aside for a bit, and enjoy their joyful feeling in the air and family and friends.
• If 2020 has taught us anything, it is to appreciate those you love and let them know you care. The world can change in a heartbeat, and we should really appreciate our loved ones and freedoms even more.
• Bake some cookies with the kids or the family. It doesn’t matter if you’re a master chef, you can always use a cookie mix or refrigerated roll of cookies and have some fun decorating the delicious delights with icing, sprinkles, peppermint candy, or whatever is your favorite. The fun is being together with those you love and adding a little sprinkle and good cheer where you can.
• Avoid the hustle and bustle of the malls and spend the evening in with your favorite Christmas movie. Whether it’s “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer,” “The Bishop’s Wife,” or watch a few Hallmark holiday movies, you’ll enjoy the time with your family and friends. Pop some popcorn, make some hot cocoa, eat some cookies, and enjoy this special time together.
• Make some homemade decorations with the family. Break out the construction paper, crayons, paint, and glitter, and add your personality to the tree.
• Send out a few Christmas cards. I know that might sound a little old fashioned, but doesn’t everyone love getting something special in the mail? Bring a smile to someone’s face. A digital card just isn’t quite the same as getting the chance to open a colorful envelope and know that someone cares.
• If you can, give a little to those in need. This season can be quite lonely for those without family or friends nearby. Whether it’s a small token of love or giving your time to those in need, it is surely appreciated.
• If you’re not traveling this holiday season to see friends and family, there are plenty of ways to share the festivities with them. Facetime while making cookies or having Christmas dinner. Send some pictures of the family decked out in their holiday best or their matching jammies. Try to find a way to include those that might live far away or unable to travel. It’s not quite the same, but at least you can spend some time together during this special time of year.
• Never forget the true meaning of the season. It is the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ, Always remember that is the reason for the season.
• Make some special memories. Christmas and the holiday season is about tradition, cheer, and goodwill to all men. Don’t forget to show some kindness to others and make some sweet memories that you’ll look back on years from now and treasure forever.

Don’t forget to honor those you’ve lost during this festive time of year. Try to include them in your own special way, whether it’s putting up your mom’s favorite treat or baking your dad’s favorite gingerbread men cookies, make sure you take time to remember the special times you shared with your loved ones that aren’t here in person but always in our hearts.

These are just a few ideas to make your holiday bright. You may have your own holiday traditions or decide on some new ones on your holiday agenda. Just make sure you slow down and really appreciate this special season and those that you love.
