Committed to helping the communities in which it serves, Keesler Federal Credit Union recently made a $3,000 donation to the Gulf Coast Rescue Mission in Biloxi.

Formed in 1965 and located at 2750 Mission Lane, the charity provides a myriad of services to the community, including an emergency homeless shelter, drug and alcohol rehabilitation, long-term housing for men and women, family crisis center, financial assistance as well as food, furniture, and clothing. It also operates a thrift store on the premises, both to help the community and raise funds for its operations.

Keesler Federal Board Chairman James Hollingworth presented the check to Rev. Thomas Mims, the Rescue Mission’s Executive Director.

“Helping our communities is a core principle of Keesler Federal and strongly supported by our members,” said Hollingsworth. “The critical assistance that Gulf Coast Rescue Mission provides to those in need is wide in scope and like most non-profits today it needs financial support to help deliver these important services.”

Keesler Federal supports communities through numerous endeavors including the Eagles Under the Oaks golf tournament which benefits Combat Wounded Veterans of South Mississippi, Backpacks for Bright Futures for kindergarten students across the Mississippi Gulf Coast and First Responder of the Year recognition throughout its markets in Alabama, Louisiana, and Mississippi.
