Ms. Ford will be discussing her memoir, “Go Back and Get It,” which explores her research on intergenerational connections and the healing power of storytelling. Her work has been featured in various publications such as the New York Times, Literary Hub, New Jersey Monthly, The Rumpus, Ebony, and Newswomen’s Club of New York. She has won awards from the National Association of Black Journalists and holds a Bachelor of Arts from Fordham University and a Master of Fine Arts from New York University. She currently resides in New Jersey.

The memoir is a fascinating American odyssey that is beautifully written, heartfelt, candid, and deeply moving. It recounts Ms. Ford’s personal journey of discovery, which began when she stumbled upon a photograph of her Ocean Springs ancestor and family. Her research led her to explore intergenerational connections between black and white communities and eventually to the healing power of storytelling.

The event will also include a question-and-answer session with Ms. Ford. As she puts it, “Stories are medicine. We tell them to get better.” We hope you will join us for an evening of insight, inspiration, and intergenerational connection.
