The Ina Thompson Moss Point Library will reopen on Monday, October 16th, 2023, at 9:00 AM, after undergoing a 1.8-million-dollar renovation funded by the Jackson County Board of Supervisors. The renovation included a full roof replacement, new air-conditioning and heating units, repairs to the exterior brick façade, new lighting, window and door replacements, new ceilings, interior wall finishes, and new flooring. The architect, Hoppy Allred, AIA of Allred Stolarik Architects, PA, and the project contractor, Dan Hensarling, Inc., worked hard to achieve this renovation, along with a dedicated JGRLS library team.

The library is a single-story building spanning approximately 13,500 square feet, with dedicated areas for circulation stacks, a children’s library, administration and manager offices, meeting rooms, and other ancillary spaces. Although the library plans to host a grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony in the future to celebrate the renovation’s success, patrons can already take advantage of the website to reserve or renew books, find electronic resources, research databases, and access free learning platforms. For any other questions, patrons can always call the library at 228-475-7462. We hope to see you soon at the Ina Thompson Moss Point Library!
