The City of Gautier will host Can’t Stop the Music, a COVID-friendly, drive-in concert series in March, April and May.

The free three-part concert series will feature Serabee on March 13, Jeff Bates on April 10, and Sean Gasaway on May 1. All concerts will take place from 6-8 p.m. at the former Singing River Mall property on Highway 90 in Gautier.

The concert series is presented by the City, the Mississippi Songwriters Alliance and Visit Mississippi, through the Mississippi Development Authority’s tourism development grant program.

Concertgoers will be able to drive in, watch the concert and hear the performers from their vehicle stereos. Food trucks will also be on site.

“We are excited to present this COVID-friendly, drive-in concert series to give our residents and visitors something unique to experience,” City Manager Paula Yancey said. “These musicians are extremely talented, and this will be a great way to spend a Saturday night in Gautier.”

The theme of this concert series is “Mississippians Making Music,” with all three artists hailing from the Magnolia State.

Serabee, performing March 13, is from the Kiln. Growing up the daughter of a Pentecostal minister father and singer/songwriter mother, Sera traveled with her family’s tent revival, leading the musical praise and worship, excelling on the Hammond B-3 organ and piano. She later began performing in New Orleans and Mississippi clubs and made her way to being a finalist on Season 1 of The Voice, where she was on Blake Shelton’s team.

Bunker Hill native Jeff Bates, performing April 10, released two albums with RCA in 2003 and 2005 and racked up seven chart singles on the Billboard country charts, of which three reached top 40. Hits include “The Love Song,” “I Wanna Make You Cry,” and “Long, Slow Kisses.”

On May 1, Escatawpa-born Sean Gasaway will take the stage. Gasaway is a two-time Native American Music Awards Song of the Year Award winning songwriter, publisher and record producer with 25+ years in the music industry. Sean’s songs have charted all over the world including Billboard radio, BBC radio, the NFL, major movies, Fox Sports and The Today Show.
