The City of Moss Point will host the River Jamboree on Saturday, May 6, 2023 from 10 am to 6 pm. It is a Southern Tradition that dates back 40 years but it was suspended due to COVID. Well, the much anticipated event is back on the calendar after a 3 year hiatus and the entire community is gearing up for the excitement.

The theme for the Jamboree is “Celebrate Moss Point” where we will not only enjoy food, fun and festivities, but we will also recognize special honorees including those citizens who are 100 years or older, veterans, and a lineup of Moss Point natives who have made great contributions to the city’s heritage.

Moss Point students will portray these Legends and Community Figures in a Living Museum. Included in this roster are John Brock, Coca Cola CEO, Toni Seawright, first black Miss Mississippi, Robert Khayat, Ole Miss Chancellor and Pro Athlete, Eddie Glaude, Princeton Professor, to name a few. The event will also feature a History Museum dating back to the 1800s.
