Franklin Cemetery (Gautier)
Also called the “Garden of Hope,” this cemetery in Gautier’s “Ghost Town” is often listed among the Top 10 haunted cemeteries in the U.S. Legend has it that a man who killed his wife and five children with an ax are buried together there, and one of the daughters wanders the cemetery in a blue dress.
Lending to its super spooky character, the graves sit between two old oak trees that look like arms reaching down over the graves. As if that weren’t enough, Hurricane Katrina also washed some of the crypts up to the surface.
PLEASE NOTE: The locals here are friendly, however the cemetery is on private property and still an active burial place. Uninvited visits are discouraged.
