The Sanderson Farms Championship 2024 kicked off September 29, 2024 and will run through October 6, 2024. It will take place at The County Club of Jackson. The Sanderson Farms Championship is Mississippi’s PGA tour event and is hosted by Century Club Charities— an organization dedicated to promoting both golf and philanthropic causes. Throughout the years, the Sanderson Farms Championship has raised over $24.5 million dollars for Mississippi’s only children’s hospital, Children’s of Mississippi (located in Jackson, MS), in addition to seventy other charities based in the Magnolia State.
This year, golfers Rickie Fowler and Matt Kuchar will be competing in the tour. Fowler will be making his first appearance at this tournament, and Kuchar will be returning, once again, since he last played in 2007. With quite an extensive career, Fowler has made his mark in the golf world earning six PGA Tour wins and three international successes. Kuchar has a capacious record, as well, winning nine PGA tours and two international wins. Each player has won The Players Championship (Fowler in 2015 and Kuchar in 2012). Last year’s (2023) championship winner was none other than Luke List.
Several events are lined up throughout the week of the tournament. On September 29, there was an invitation-only Pro-Am Pairings reception. The next day, it was followed by Sealed Pro-Am Tee Times and Noon First Tee Clinic presented by Southern Research Group. October 1st will mark the day the pros have their practice rounds. In addition to this, other events such as the Women’s Day Lunch and All Star Kids Clinic will be held.
October 2nd is the day everyone has been waiting for. The gates will open to the public at 7:00 AM- sharp, and several events will follow such as the Lyle Machinery Pro-Am Morning Tee Times (7:00 AM to 9:00 AM) and the Junior Pro-Am Tee Times which will begin at 1:30 PM. The next few days will be filled with more tee times and fun. For example, October 5th is “University Day” where attendees are encouraged to wear their favorite team’s colors. The tour will close out on October 6th with the final round of tee times and a non-denominational worship service. If you’d like to know more about the events, a list can be found here!
