Over 70 boats and 360 anglers will gather in the coming days for the annual Mississippi Gulf Coast Billfish Classic.

With record-breaking fish caught during the event year in and year out, the 2023 purse is currently set at a whopping $1.36 million. Categories will include heaviest fish, catch and release, top lady, and junior anglers. Awards will also be presented for the top swordfish, sailfish, tuna, dolphin, and blue and white marlin.

The schedule for the Mississippi Gulf Coast Billfish Classic, set for June 5-11, is as follows:

Monday, June 5 – Teams begin arriving.

Tuesday, June 6 – Dock Party 6 p.m.

Wednesday, June 7 – Tournament registration goes from 1-9 p.m.; Captains & Anglers Dinner 6:30-8:30 p.m.

Thursday, June 8 – Boats may leave Point Cadet Marina at 11 a.m.

Friday, June 9 – Scales open at 3 p.m. and close at 8 p.m.

Saturday, June 10 – Scales open at 3 p.m. and close at 6 p.m.

Sunday, June 11 – Awards ceremony at 10:30 a.m. at the Golden Nugget in Biloxi
